Psycho Chapter 3

Undying body is so long…

Chapter 3, Deprive

Wha…What??

That sick bastard is…watching him?

Ye Zi quickly looked around him, but all he saw among the rows of willow trees were elderly people taking their walks, a naughty little brat, and a girl who was walking her dog. He didn’t see anyone scary-looking at all. Where is he?? Was he just joking?

Ye Zi’s hand was shaking. After a while, he finally sent a message, asking, “Where are you?”

Soon, Hare replied, but he did not answer the question.

“Your face doesn’t look too good. There’s a bench just 5 meters away from you. Go sit down and have a rest.”

Ye Zi raised his head and indeed, there was a white bench right there.

But Ye Zi still didn’t believe him. He suddenly realized that someone could pinpoint his location with his phone number, but that didn’t necessarily mean that he could recognize him! So, after taking several deep breaths, he wrote him another message. “Since you can see me, then can you tell me what I look like?”

Hare responded, “Short black hair with your ears showing, loose bangs, fair skin, about 175cm tall, striped T-shirt, dark jeans, and white sneakers. Am I right?”

Ye Zi was horrified and enraged. “You’re stalking me! You promised you wouldn’t harass me!”

Hare, “Don’t say it like that. It was out of chance that I stumbled upon you today.”

Out of chance?

Don’t joke with me.

Ye Zi put down his phone with his mind in a mess. What was Hare trying to say? That he was completely under his control? That if he didn’t follow through with the agreement, he would…

The air felt so hot that his body was already drenched in sweat. Though a hot gust of air would blow past him every so often, Ye Zi felt unbearably cold. He felt like a moth that had flown into a spider’s net with no power to resist at all. Oh how he hoped that man would be able to spare him, he even thought about whether he should call the police. But if he did, he wouldn’t be able to pull himself out of the situation, and what happened to his mom would be exposed as well. He won’t be able to save his new family…What’s more, it was he himself who made the agreement with Hare. For him to go back on his word is a little…

After a long time, Ye Zi gradually calmed down and began thinking about what he could do and the consequences of doing them.

Calling the police was not a good choice, and his life would be in danger if he bailed on the agreement. As long as he followed the steps, then settling the agreement would be the best choice. If he did well, then he wouldn’t be in any danger at all. What’s more, he had a video of Hare’s murder with him now. That could be considered blackmail material for him, so he did actually have a way out, right?

Finally, Ye Zi messaged Hare, saying, “Don’t worry, I’ll honor the agreement. But after I do, can you promise that you won’t harass me again?”

The other party responded immediately. “I promise.”

“Good. I’ll get it done as soon as possible.”

“I’ll be waiting for your good news.”

***

if he really had to kill that woman, then he better get it done as soon as possible. It’s like the homework assigned to him by his professors. The more he delays it, the more troublesome they get, so he might as well get it done earlier.

Ye Zi’s mother noticed that his complexion was growing worse and worse these days. His eyes were extremely bloodshot and his skin was sallow. She advised him several times to relax and not to stress too much over his studies. To put his mom at ease, Ye Zi told her he was fine and even told her that they should visit Hainan as a family to relax for a few days. His mother was very happy to hear that and quickly went off to tell his uncle.

When Ye Zi returned to his own apartment, the place was in a mess. There were notes and newspaper cutouts everywhere with all kinds of information and photos of Jiang Wei displayed on his computer. Just the number of plans he could use to kill her totaled over twenty.

Clearly, he thought of so many methods, but those were also the dumbest ones when actually implemented in real life.

It was a little over one in the morning at that time. Jiang Wei had just staggered out of the bar by herself, clearly inebriated. Standing on her red heels, she waited on the road for a taxi. Unfortunately, it was too late and they were in a remote area to boot, not a single empty car passed after several minutes passed.

Perhaps she was thinking that she would wait for a car while she walked, so the woman began stumbling forward, hiccuping from time to time.

Ye Zi tailed her for nearly ten minutes before he finally knocked her out near one of the broken street lamps. Then, he stuffed her into the sack he brought with him and took her into a quiet alley. Very soon, he arrived at the old warehouse.

Covering the woman’s mouth with tape, he secured her hands and legs with rope.

Then, Ye Zi changed into a pair of long-sleeved overalls he had bought at a stall. He covered his hair with a shower cap and his face with a towel.

He had to force himself to calm down. It felt like there was a war going on inside his head.

Should he strangle her with a rope? No. If he did that, then the woman’s body might convulse and lose control of her bladder. That would be difficult to deal with.

Anyway, he had to bleed out her body in the end so it was better to use a knife. Truth be told, the best place to do it would be in the bathroom. That way it would be much easier to deal with the blood. But unfortunately, there would definitely be records if he brought her to a hotel, and he may also be recorded by a camera. If he took her home, then things may get troublesome with the guards at the entrance.

Right now, he had covered the floor in several layers of plastic, and he could pour out most of the blood onto a metal basin. Then he’ll empty it out into the sewers. If it spilled then it would just land onto the plastic, which was fine. After that, he could burn the woman’s body and clothes in a pile. The innards will be thrown into the refuse chamber in batches while the head can be buried into the ground with cement. Then, he’ll carefully wash out the floor and the sewers with bleach. Five in the morning would be a good time to leave.

Since this warehouse was completely unused. Nobody would come for any construction work these years so he definitely wouldn’t be found out. Definitely.

While thinking so, Ye Zi picked up the sharp knife and stood up. Then, he slowly approached the woman.

Unexpectedly, the woman suddenly woke up.

She seemed to have been woke up by the sound of his footsteps.

At first, the woman frowned, seemingly about to complain.

Then, her eyes widened abruptly. Her beautiful face was covered in fear while her breathing turned fast. A whimper poured out from her mouth as if she could cry at any moment from the immense fear.

Don’t kill me, she probably wanted to beg, right?

Staring at her, Ye Zi couldn’t stop his hands from shaking.

He really thought that this woman was very pitiful right then, and he felt like he was a monster.

This woman may have actually done some bad things in the past, but he felt that she couldn’t be as bad as what Hare said after tailing her for so long. She lived in a beautiful apartment by herself and she was quite clearly unhappy. Even her expression was somber whenever she sang in the bar.

Once, he saw her arguing furiously with someone on the phone, telling them to leave her alone. Then, he saw her getting out of a fancy black car before falling to the ground in a disheveled appearance. She didn’t seem like a man’s lover, but an object for them to vent their desires on. He once saw her going to the supermarket alone, saw her crouching down to stroke a young girl’s hair, telling her to study well so she wouldn’t grow up to become someone like her.

This woman had her own joy, her sadness, and her own compassion. She also had her parents and her friends.

If she died today, then nobody would ever be able to hear her sing again. That little girl would also no longer be able to see that big sister who stroked her hair, and her parents would definitely be devastated…

The woman was shaking her head constantly, she was struggling. Tears were strewn across her face. It was a mess.

But then, a shadow soon covered her face.

Right now, murder had been reduced to a multiple-choice question with a clear answer for Ye Zi.

Would this woman be the one to die, or him? The happiness of her family or his, which one is more important? The answer was beyond doubt.

Then, a large splash of scarlet blood stained the walls.

The muffled sound of his blade puncturing her skin echoed in the room.

Strangely enough, he was still worrying about whether he would be able to do it.

But the fact was, he could not have stopped as soon as it truly began. There seemed to be a fanatic, burning passion rising up and boiling his blood. It felt like the grey shadow on the wall was jumping up and down under the pale striking white light, constantly expanding until it formed the outline of a monster.

It was a wonderful feeling.

He liked this feeling of deprivation. It felt like every single stab was robbing someone of something, like he owned them. Another soul, a spirit, was constantly seeping into his body. He felt like he was becoming stronger and stronger as if he had defeated his cowardly self and turning into something completely different.

He liked this feeling of domination.

It didn’t feel like he was doing a cruel thing at all. He was just releasing this rotten soul. This was the ending the woman deserved. It was her fault she seduced a married man and abused an aging woman. She went against a woman’s values and stole a man that did not belong to her.

It felt like he had woken up from a comforting yet terrifying nightmare. When he regained his consciousness, he was shocked by the scene before him.

He immediately threw up like nobody’s business.

After ten minutes, he was completely sober. He had calmed down. Based on his plans, he settled everything almost perfectly.

Before it reached five in the morning, he left the warehouse.

At eleven, he called his mother.

Mom, “Did you sleep in today?”

Ye Zi, “I was playing games until the middle of the night last night, and I slept till ten o’clock this morning.”

Mom, “My boy! Didn’t I tell you not to stay up so late?”

Ye Zi, “Did uncle agree to visiting Hainan?”

Mom, “I was just calling to tell you the good news. He has already taken his leave and we’ll be able to leave next week. We can play for a week! You’re definitely free, aren’t you?”

Ye Zi, “Of course! Oh, that’s right mom…”

Mom, “What is it, Ye Zi?”

Ye Zi, “I’ll just call him dad in the future. It feels a little strange calling him uncle.”

Mom, “…Ye Zi!”

Ye Zi, “Are you crying, mom? You’re overreacting.”

Mom, “Are you coming to live with us in the future?”

Ye Zi, “Of course not! I like living alone. But even if we’re not staying together, I still love you.”

Mom, “Gosh…You’ve got such a sweet mouth on you today.”

Ye Zi, “Haha. You two should give me a little sister soon.”

Mom, “And what if you got a little brother instead?”

Ye Zi, “Then put it back into your tummy and try again!”

Mom, “Are you getting smart with me, young man? Well fine, I’m going to go make lunch now. Are you coming to eat?”

Ye Zi, “Sure.”

Even though he didn’t sleep at all last night, Ye Zi felt unexpectedly happy and relaxed. He wore his youth like a badge, walking underneath the sun and between the flow of people.

It was finally over. That’s great.

Just think of everything that happened yesterday as a dream.

As time goes by, the world will forget all about that woman.

Finally, nothing will be left.

And his mother will now have her happiness without and threats obstructing her way, and he will finally have a happy family. It was a bright future…how wonderful.
